This commercial building had to meet all 2009 IBC. Structural, fire, life safety, energy, and accessibility codes. The glass envelope became the main challenge and focus of the structural design. The main frame of the building used glulam posts, beams, rafters, and braces that are all exposed. The gambrel roof was framed with a multiply truss, rather than the more costly glulam arch option.
